Design
The most prized feature of the Comfee Mini Plus Dishwasher is its compact size and portability. The dishwasher has a footprint of just 42cm W x 43.5cm D, so it can fit in areas where space is limited such as small kitchens, RV’s or narrow boats. The appliance weighs in at 14.5kg, so if necessary moving it daily is easy enough whether you’re at home or on the go such as a camping trip.
Style and Build Quality
This Comfee dishwasher is only available in one style, which is white. Externally, the dishwasher body is constructed of plastic. Overall, it’s nicely styled and modern looking with rounded edges and a sizeable black touch control panel at the top. The side of the appliance has some slots to allow for ventilation.
The large see through window at the front let’s you keep an eye on what’s happening inside when it’s washing. This is a cool feature that you don’t see on larger dishwashers or even some similar sized dishwashers.
Accessories Included
To get you started, a range of accessories are included within the unit, some of which you’ll need before setting it up.
- Inlet Hose
- Drain Hose
- 1.8L Water Container
- Baby Bottle Rack
- Water Guider
Setting Up The COMFEE’ Mini Plus
Out of the box, the Mini Plus is one of the most easiest dishwashers to setup. Just like with many countertop dishwashers we see these days, no plumbing is required as it has a built-in 6L water tank that allows you to manually fill it with water.
There are 3 main steps to set it up for use.
Step 1: Firstly, power on the dishwasher. Fill the water container jug with water. Then remove the sticker on the cap on the water tank, unscrew the cap and fill it up with approx 3 jugs of water. The included water guider lets you fill the tank without making a mess. When the water tank is full, the dishwasher makes a beeping chime to let you know.
Or alternatively connect the inlet hose to your water supply, if it’s convenient.
Step 2: Next, connect up the drain hose to the back of the dishwasher and let it flow into a sink or bucket to drain waste water.
Step 3: The next step is to add some dishwasher salt. This softens the water, which is particularly important if you live in a hard water area. At the base of the interior of the dishwasher, unscrew the salt compartment cap and pour in 1 litre of water then add 0.13kg of dishwasher salt. You only need to add salt every 2-3 months, not before every use.
Tip: If you use all-in-one dishwasher tablets and don’t live in a hard water area then you don’t need to add salt to the dishwasher. However, keep in mind that the performance of dishwasher tablets varies on small dishwashers as the tablets don’t always dissolve during a wash cycle, particularly on shorter wash programmes.
Interior
The Mini Plus has a stainless steel tub interior, which is generally preferred over a plastic tub as it’s more durable, easier to clean and helps with noise reduction.
There are two spray arms inside which spray water in the top and bottom areas of the interior, so items are thoroughly washed with satisfactory cleaning results.
The rack can fit plates up to 27cm in diameter. Most standard sized plates can fit in okay. Attempting to fit in slightly larger plates may result in the spray arm not functioning correctly.
Some flexibility is provided for when loading the dishwasher. The cutlery tray is height adjustable so you can adjust it to your preference to fit items like glassware underneath. Although this is a bit fiddly to do and takes some getting used to.
An interior light is included which is very useful for seeing the interior through the see through window while the dishwasher is in action.
Wash Programmes
There are 6 wash programmes to choose from, including the 3 standard programmes plus extra specialised programmes. This makes the TD305-W very versatile for taking on various dishwashing tasks.
Hygiene 72° – This programme is suitable for washing heavily soiled dishes and baby bottles.
Intensive – Washes up to 70° for 155 mins.
ECO – The most energy efficient programme, ideal for lightly soiled dishes. It cleans up to 70° for 155 mins.
Glass – Cleans glassware up to 60° for 85 mins.
58min Wash – This mode has the best balance between cleaning performance and time efficiency. It washes at temperatures up to 65°.
Rapid – When time is short, you can use the rapid mode which cleans at temperature up to 60° for 29 mins. This programme doesn’t dry the dishes at the end of the cycle.
Noise Level
Countertop dishwashers aren’t known for their low noise because of their compactness, so the Comfee Mini Plus isn’t the quietest of dishwashers. However, it holds its own against other countertop dishwashers. It has a D noise rating with a 58dB noise level. A normal conversation is around 60-70dB, so it’s quiet enough for everyday use such as in an open plan kitchen.
Energy Efficiency
This is quite an energy efficient dishwasher in comparison to models of a similar size/capacity. The Comfee TD305-W has an F energy rating which gives it an energy consumption of 45 kWh per 100 wash cycles on the ECO mode.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Compact and sized right for smaller spaces.
- Very versatile with no installation necessary.
- Great cleaning performance even for heavier soiled dishes.
- User-friendly touch controls with a good range of wash cycles.
- Its see through window and internal light makes dishwashing fun.
Cons
- There are some reliability issues that can occur, most commonly an E4 error code which indicates water leakage internally. However, this error can sometimes be fixed by tilting the dishwasher over the sink to drain out any excess water from the base pan.
- The dishwasher tablet compartment in the door is flimsy, so the tablets fall out. But you can put the tablet anywhere inside before a wash cycle so this isn’t an issue, just a slight annoyance.
- Short warranty. We would have liked to have seen at least a 2-year warranty especially for a somewhat complex appliance where faults can arise.
Guarantee: 1-year warranty.
Final Thoughts
The COMFEE’ Mini Plus Dishwasher TD305-W is one of the best countertop dishwashers currently in the market as it has a lot of the desired features that cheaper models lack such as delay start, an internal light, see through window and the capacity to fit 27cm sized plates.
The option to pour in water manually without requiring plumbing takes dishwashing convenience to another level as the dishwasher can be placed anywhere in the kitchen even where there is no water source nearby.
Also, the inclusion of the hygiene programme and baby bottle rack makes it an ideal choice for new families looking for a solution to hygienically clean baby bottles without requiring a separate appliance.
Its main drawback is it has reliability issues like all dishwashers have, but the overall failure rate appears low. It only includes a 1 year warranty, but most issues are likely to occur within the first year, so you should be able to get a replacement if you encounter any problems.
If you want to turn dishwashing from a daily chore to fun then this comes highly recommended.
